Artificial Intelligence CE For CFPs, IARs & CPA CPE

Practical, Ethical, Professional Use Of AI

This class has been submitted for CFP, CIMA, and CPA.  Course approvals generally take no more than three days.  It will be submitted for Ethics IAR CE approval on December 2, 2025, which can take up to 30 days.

This one-credit class for IARs and professionals shows how to use AI responsibly to accomplish common tasks using ChatGPT, starting with writing a plain-English client AI disclosure and including selecting the right ChatGPT subscription.

Learning objectives (LOs) for this class may sound daunting, but are easily achieved after the class. LOs will be updated before the live class, but you walk away armed with techniques for writing better prompts and always getting source-bounded answers with citations, and ways to keep ChatGPT outputs accurate, auditable, and client-safe.

Learners will come to know how to text-message and email clients using compliant templates with personalization, opt-outs, and archival workflows for compliance, and how to storyboard a 60-second educational video with required disclosures.

You'll learn a way to automate construction of client-safe charts illustrating performance vs. benchmark and other Excel charts and learn to craft a balanced one-page performance memo covering returns, risk, fees, and suitability.

Completing this class arms you with enough knowledge to:

  • Understand the role of AI in advisor capacity. Learn how AI expands daily operational bandwidth.

Apply AI to automate recurring advisory tasks. Use automation to reduce routine workload reliably.

Use the PRIME model for effective AI adoption. Follow PRIME to guide responsible AI integration.

Track major AI platform updates impacting advisors. Identify practical updates affecting advisor workflows.

Enhance productivity using modern AI voice tools. Leverage voice interfaces for faster task execution.

Configure custom instructions for safer AI outputs. Set AI defaults aligned with compliance needs.

Use AI memory features to support client work. Enable AI recall to streamline repeated processes.

Organize advisory workflows using AI projects. Group tasks and data in structured AI projects.

Customize GPTs for client-safe practice needs. Build tools tailored to advisory communication workflows.

Repurpose AI-created time into client value. Use saved time to deepen client engagement.

You leave with a reusable toolkit, handouts with more details about how to implement the 10 LOS, while always meeting requirements for confidentiality, duty of care, and regulator-ready recordkeeping.

Craig Turner

Instructor, Artificial Intelligence

Craig Turner is a nationally recognized AI educator, speaker, and consultant who has trained over 900 organizations on integrating artificial intelligence into real-world business operations. As founder of Momentum and co-founder of Momentum AI, Craig specializes in helping chambers of commerce, small businesses, nonprofits, and financial professionals harness AI as a strategic tool — not a shortcut. His practical, engaging approach to teaching demystifies AI by focusing on usable data, ethical implementation, and scalable productivity enhancements. In addition to his consulting work, Craig serves as the interim executive for the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce, giving him hands-on experience in operational leadership and economic development. A passionate advocate for responsible innovation, he routinely speaks to professional audiences across the country, showcasing live demonstrations and use cases in tools like ChatGPT, Canva, and custom-built GPTs. Craig’s career path into AI began unexpectedly. Craig was a newspaper reporter before he became a business owner and novelist. In 2021, Craig wrote a political thriller imagining an AI generated character running for public office. He soon realized he’d become an AI strategist himself. His commitment to staying ahead of the curve — and helping others do the same — is evident in his philosophy: AI is not about getting things off your plate; it’s about doing everything better. Craig actively shares insights on LinkedIn, encouraging professionals to connect, not just follow, and continue learning beyond the classroom.
